All our pools have pool covers to retain the heat overnight. The communal pools at La Colina are not heated.

-
All private pools have save stone surrounds with no sharp
edges.
They have cleaning filters constantly running.
There are safety rings at each pool.
-
The communal pools near the Angelina property are available
for our guests. There is a large but shallow (about 18 inches
deep) children's pool and a very large and quite deep adults
pool.
Weather
-
It is sunny all year round with an average temperature of 24
degrees.
Fuerteventura has the most sunlight of all the islands.
You may need a jacket or cardigan for the evenings between
the months of November and March.
The summer temperature is normally between 25-30 degrees
and can reach 35. Evening temperatures can stay in the mid
20's until quite late, when it remains in the high teens.
The winter temperatures are around 20-26 degrees in daytime,
while the evening temps are between 10-20 degrees.
There is very little rain.
-
Fuereteventura is known for its breezes but this is a
pleasant cooling breeze rather than a wind most of the year.
It is windiest at the North and South of the Islands, not the
centre where Caleta de Fuste is.
Surprisingly the wind is strongest in the summer (when you
might prefer to be cooled) and weakest in the Winter (providing
for beautifully calm days).
However, at our recent visit to the world Windsurfing
championships in July in Costa Calma in the South,
the windsurfing was delayed due to no wind!
-
Trade winds from the Sahara are a feature of the island and
responsible for the sandy dunes in Correlejo.
They however bring warm winds.
Bedrooms
Arrangement:
Alexander - all rooms at one end of the villa in bedroom
complex
Angelina - Rooms at front at back of the 1st floor of the
property separated by a corridor.
- How far is it to the town centre and facilities?
-
There are two centres in Caleta: Atlantico and the 'main
Centre'. Its best to read this while looking at the map on our
website.
- Atlantico and Beach are 7 minutes walk from Alexander and
10minutes from Angelina. The beautiful small beaches are
situated here. These have the nicest sand and bathing and
are shallow.
-
The main centre is 15minutes walk from Alexander and 18
minutes from Angelina. The larger beach is situated here.
There are stops on the way also. You can stop and have a
drink at the Beach Café half way or at the Sheraton if you are
heading into the centre.
-
It is a good idea to walk into the centre on an evening and
taxi back later if you have small children up to the age of 4.
Taxis are only E3.5 each way from the centre and less from
Atlantico.
-
The campo de golf is rectangular shaped stretching away
from the beach. At the beach is the Atlantico shopping centre,
which has the major Spar for your shopping basket, banks, ten
pin bowling, amusement arcades, internet points, free wireless
lan in cafes, bars, restaurants, icecream parlours, newspapers
etc. Music events, Childrens inflatable activities, BEACH.
-
The 'main Centre' has many more restaurants and
bars and entertainments and is near the larger beach.
- Do I need to hire a car?
- No, unless you wish to explore the island, but still it is not
necessary for some trips(e.g. the zoo) and the island bus
service is excellent.
- Our experience with children from 0 - 9 also is that while a car
can cost around E30 a day, we only take a taxi back in from
the centres for around E3.5, and only when we decide to go in.
So a car is not needed.
- Shopping can also be brought back from Atlantico in a taxi for
under Euro3.
- Getting from the airport is only Euro13 each way in a taxi. The
taxi service is efficient and arrives quickly when you call. They
speak English, Spanish and German.
- A free bus operates from the Elba Palace Golf Hotel into
Caleta, with various stops along the route, including Atlantico.
There is a free bus service for some excursions.
- If you do wish to hire a car please look at the affiliate links
on our website. It is best to do this before you arrive on the
island to avoid paying higher prices and because there is often
no supply when you are in resort. Some firms only rent from
the airport.
- So if you wish to only hire for a few days during your holiday
and pick up in Caleta, our links will be a good starting point.
- Is there private parking available?
- Villa Alexander has a private driveway with space for 2
cars with lockable gates. Multiple parking bays also on
the street in front of the property.
- Villa Angelina has a private driveway with space for 1
car with lockable gates. Multiple parking bays also on
the street in front of the property.
- Do you offer welcome packs of food/drink for our arrival?
- Yes a bottle of wine and water, toilet rolls, and soap, bin bags
and tin foil for the barbecue and cooker are provided free.
- Other welcome packs of various sizes and prices are available
and can be booked with your villa booking. For now this will be
done after your booking, but soon will be done at the time of
booking or later in your account.
- Paying for the Villa
- Can I pay with a deposit?
- All holidays must be fully paid up 3 months prior to arrival
- Holidays with Total cost over £1000 may reserve with 25%
- Holidays under £1000 require a 50% deposit with the balance paid 3 months prior to arrival.
- Damage Deposits
- We do not charge a damage deposit (other than an
optional £50 roof terrace access to avoid the satellite
dish being tampered with) and hope that you will treat
our properties with respect. We will however take action
against criminal damage in our villas.
- Payment errors - My payment was not processed or I got
an error message.
-
This can happen if you enter your card data incorrectly.
Or choose the wrong card. You must enter your name
as it appears on your card.
-
If you have not received a confirmation of your payment
from paypoint, your payment has not been processed.
Please try again carefully to enter your card data.
-
Once you're payment has been processed you will be
asked to fill in details of your holiday, including flight
details.
-
Soon your holiday details will be entered first before any

odd, but we are working to fix this in our new website
due by the end of August 2010.
- Plugs/Travel Adaptors, mosquito plugs etc.
- We unfortunately don't supply these as they tend to go
missing.
- Villa Alexander has mosquito nets on all bedroom
windows.
- Safety - what is provided?
- Fire extinguisher in each property.
- 2 Smoke alarms in each property.
- Pool life ring for each pool.
- Pool depth and no diving signs.
- Window shutters on all children's rooms, so you can use
the mosquito nets in villa Alexander and still be secure.
Angelina bedrooms are on the 1st floor.
- Note: while we can give our customers access to
the communal pool at La Colina (near the Angelina
property), we take no responsiblility for safety equipment
provided, which is the responsibility of the community.
- Toys for children for pool and beach
- As in all tourist resorts there are plenty shops with beach
and pool toys like spades, buckets, floaters, arm bands
etc.
- There are also plenty of other toys for sale. Some
of our guests often choose to leave larger pool toys
behind so there is often a selection to choose from.
- What can't I buy on the island?
- Its tricky to get fresh whole milk as it doesn't last long,
and is not supplied in great quantities. But it is available
sometimes at the Spar and always at the Netto shop
in the main centre near the car park and taxi rank.
- Tea is best brought out as it is supplied but perhaps not
the type you like. There is more coffee than you could
ever want!
- Olives without stones are the only other thing-look
for 'sin hueso' to mean without stones.
