See below pictures for Favourite Restaurants

Favourite Restaurants:

Harbour Nightclub (more like DJ and lounge bar in amazing setting) on the harbour where the lighthouse is. Very very cool and installed since 2015. kids also welcome on most nights. See pictures

Fado Rock - fabulous and best steak restaurant in the area with a good atmosphere and often with a live guitarist. Efficiently run Portuguese restaurant where your steaks are often cooked next to your table!

Frasquita: probably the oldest and best fish restaurant in Caleta- on the beach. Small but great quality of local catch.

Los Caracolitos:  Wonderful fish restaurant in a quiet fishing Cove in the la salinas village. Great if you want some quite away from the buzz.   (closed Sunday/Monday and a lot of Christmas/New year) They only take cash.

Chiringuito: fantastic Island cafe in the sea- see our photo page.  This is right opposite the Sheraton - you walk across a wooden bridge.  Food is great and views spectacular.  Prices are cheap, considering its run by the Sheraton. Indoor and outdoor lunch and dinner.

El Patio: Great food- and reliably so.  Run by locals.  Great entertainment- our favourite is Spanish guitar player and singer Alberto- he has a wide repertoire of British and Spanish popluar music across the years and a wonderful warm personality.  Nice atmostphere and nice seating inside and outside.

Amares Restaurant:  varied cuisine on the beach front next to Frasquita restaurant. Nice service and modern.

555 restaurant: high quality steak and other food & wine and a superior service. Situated on main car park side of Caleta Centre

La Vaca Azul:  In El Cotillo on north of west of island on a beautiful fishing bay, serving fresh fish and steaks. Good standard and wifi.  Phone 0034 928 538 685 (c/Requena, Muelle Viejo, El Cotillo).

Ocean View:  Ideally this is located at the Atlantico(near beach) on the ground floor in prime position for all entertainments and kids play areas. British and Spanish ran.  Cheap but decent food catering for a wide variety of tastes.

Cafe Gala:  Great coffee and european breakfasts at the Atlantico Centre

Atlantico Centre - shopping, restaurants and entertainment: The main Spar Supermarket is here. See the whole host of events and activities at the Atlantico which is situated on the beach opposite the golf course.   www.ccatlanticofuerteventura.com  Opening hours Monday-Saturday 09:30 h. to 22:00 h, Sundays 11:00 h. to 22:00 h.

Great Places to visit:
The Zoo – or Oasis Park drive South towards Jandia and you will see Alligators, Giraffes, Zebras, Monkey’s, Hippos, Seals, Camels, Baboons and many other great animals. There are regular shows and a great restaurant with a very good children’s playground in the shade.  You can also take a Camel safari.  Most of the walkways are protected from the sun by tree branches about 40minutes. Tel info 0034 902 400 434, 0034 928 16 11 35.

The Water park – Drive north towards Corralejo and you will see the Waterpark with slides and activities for all the family from the road on the outskirts of the town.

Ferry to Tenerife – this leaves regularly from Corralejo (info at the house) and costs very little – around E10 each for a return.  You can also take you hire car on the ferry for what seems a cheap fare.

Carnivals in Puerto Rosario
There are often parties, concerts and more in the Capital Rosario, which is about 7 minutes north from the Airport (opposite side to Caleta).  It is best to ask at the tourist information in Caleta about these. This is in the same building as the Police station.

Shopping
Note that in Fuerteventura most shopping centres (apart from Atlantico in Caleta which is handily open all day) are open most of the day nowadays. There is lots of general shopping in the tourist centres in Caleta.   In Puerto there is a fantastic new 4 floor indoor and air-conditioned shopping centre called 'los Rotondas' which is also open all day. This has clothes, toys, cafes, short term child play area/nursery, sports equipment and everything else and is only a 15 minute taxi ride to away. Rosario is developing fast so there is plenty to see although other than 'Los rotondas' it’s not great for small children unless you find the great playground near the fantastic bakery.  Best shopping is on Secundino Alonso, 1 e Mayo and Leon y Castillo and in the 4 story Los Rotondas indoor shopping centre as you enter the city.

Beauty and Treatments:
You can get these either at the Golf clubhouse or you can go into Caltea to Thaleventura (near the paddlecourts, near the beach) open Monday to Saturday 10am to 7pm.  Telephone 00 34 928 16 09 61.
